In 2010, Irina Drăgănescu graduated Acting at the UNATC - National University of Theatre and Film “I.L.Caragiale” in Bucharest, Romania.
She works both with state theatres such as the Comedy Theatre, Nottara and Bulandra in Bucharest, as well as alternative cultural venues such as Godot Café in Bucharest.
She played in the first theatre sitcom in Romania, “Fata care si-a pierdut capul” / The Girl who Lost Her Head, as well as in “Născut în 84” / Born in 84 and “Copilul rece” / The Cold Child written by Marius von Mayenburg and staged by Catinca Drăgănescu.
She also played in “Produse domestice” / Domestic Products, a performance signed by Ioana Păun, about the exploitation of Filipino nannies in Romania.
For playing Sylveta in “Romanţioşii” / The Romancers written by Edmond Rostand, staged by Alexandru Mâzgăreanu, in 2008 she won the Interpretation Award “Comedia tine la TINEri” offered by the Comedy Theatre of Bucharest. In 2009, she won Tomorrow’s Star prize offered by Irina Petrescu and Emil Boroghină at the “Vede Teatru” Festival.
