Not to be missed today at TIFF: Kubrick meets Zone Libre

An ambitious musical project, involving a SF genre masterpiece remix - 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), directed by Stanley Kubrick. Former guitarist of Noir Désir, Serge Teyssot-Gay, and drummer Cyril Bilbeaud form duo Zone Libre. They are already recognized for their rock and rap experiments and film soundtracks (Gainsbourg), as well as for their original scoring for silent films such as Nosferatu, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, Tabu or Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
Accompanied by the personal and powerful music of the two artists, the recut version of 2001: A Space Odyssey acquires new meanings. The project was commissioned for the Printemps des ciné concerts Festoval and makes its way to Cluj as part of the partnership between TIFF and the Brussels Film Festival.
