Kadjavsi Concert
Sunday, June 16, 7:00 PM - Art Museum
Kadjavsi started in 2017, as a project that mainly focused on improvised ambiental piano soundscapes, recorded by Bucharest-based musician Nikita Dembinski. Some of these albums, such as “Breaks That Friend Your Heart” or “A Bounding Situation”, were released in cassette form through independent local label Beach Buddies Records.
Dembinski then later went further into producing and released his first single in 2021 called “Each Day”, where he debuts as a lyricist and vocalist too, shifting the style of the project by making his first alternative pop song.
Influenced by some of UK’s most prestigious artists like James Blake, Squid, Black Country New Road or The Smile, Dembinski set out to embark on a journey where his life-long exposure to music, theatre and film merged into one, creating a cinematic experience through live performances. Kadjavsi’s live shows are almost always accompanied by visual support, never lacking the dramatic yet truthful lyricism of debut album, “Second Sun”.
Dembinski produced this nine-track record alongside guitarist and co- producer Luca Calaras. The album was released independently in November 2022 and marketed mostly through social media. Within the first months after the release, Kadjavsi started a series of live shows, debuting on national radio with a live performance on Radio Guerilla.
