SILVIA LUCA
Silvia Luca graduated in 1989 from the International Institute of Cinematography in Moscow, majoring in Theatre and Film Acting under the guidance of Anatolii Romașin and Evgenii Matveev. In her graduation performances, she played the leading roles in Steaua fără nume and Bancheta.
She performed at the “Luceafărul” Theatre in Chișinău and the “Mihai Eminescu” National Theatre in Chișinău, portraying notable roles such as Amaranta in One Hundred Years of Solitude, Anna Karenina in Anna Karenina, Grushenka in The Brothers Karamazov, and Gertrude in Hamlet.
At the Comedy Theatre in Bucharest, she portrayed the main role in Anna Karenina again. At the Union Theatre in Bucharest, she played Masha in Three Sisters, and at the Mihai Eminescu Theatre in Botoșani, she participated in shows such as Zeițe de categoria B, Caragiale e de vină, Eroine, and Trei surori.
She has been awarded the Best Actress of the Year in the Republic of Moldova five times, first in 1993 and most recently in 2007. In 2009, she was honored with the title “Master of Arts” from the Republic of Moldova. In 2013, she was awarded the professional rank of “Master of the Stage” – the highest professional artistic rank in theatres in the Republic of Moldova. Additionally, in 2022, Silvia Luca was honored with the title of People’s Artist.
In cinema, she has had roles in the following films: Dina – Tenis cu moldovenii, Histia – Lupii și Zeii, Silvia – Taina domnișoarelor de pension, Natalia – Tangou pe marginea prăpastiei, Nadea – Codrii, and Dina – Strada felinarelor stinse.
